Value: $53,492.00

Purpose: This is a supplement to the following 30-month project which engaged communities to prevent or eliminate cyberviolence against young women and girls across Canada. YWCA Canada, in partnership with its member associations, engaged youth in identifying the issues of cyberviolence affecting young women and girls and expand their understanding of these issues. The project built collaboration among key stakeholders such as public sector policy makers, justice and legal professionals, violence against women experts and private sector digital market players to respond to the specific needs of young women and girls, and implemented strategies to prevent this form of gender-based violence. Other activities included the establishment of knowledge exchange hubs with partners and stakeholders who supported knowledge sharing and strategies with particular demographics in the Atlantic, the West, Ontario, francophone communities/Quebec and Northern Aboriginal communities. Supplement: Supplemental funding will support increased outreach with information and communication technology companies in order to create safe online spaces for girls and young women across Canada.
Comments: Multi-year project
