Purpose: This 30-month project will address institutional barriers that limit the economic prosperity of current and potential Aboriginal women entrepreneurs living in Prince George and surrounding area. Key stakeholders and local Aboriginal business women will examine the contribution of women entrepreneurs to the local economy, as well as the barriers and issues they face. A local roundtable will be held to set priorities and make recommendations that build on local assets and target the obstacles local women face when starting or growing their businesses. Promising practices from other jurisdictions will be sought in order to inform the development of local options for implementation by economic stakeholders.
