Purpose: This 24 month project will build collaboration between sexual assault centres and community service providers in the rural communities of Alberta to better identify promising practices and coordinate implementation efforts. The project will work to standardize a coordinated sexual assault crisis response in these communities. Promising practices adapted for each community will be piloted to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and enhanced levels of services for victims of sexual assault. The project will also establish a western collaboration with organizations from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia to share knowledge on gaps and best practices to improve responses to sexual assault across western Canada.
