Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Regroupement des maisons pour femmes victimes de violence conjugale
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Date: 2013-09-10
Value: $218,612.00
Type: Contribution
Purpose: This 36 month project will focus on developing more appropriate intervention practices for mothers who are victims of spousal violence, and who seek refuge in a shelter with their children. By improving collaboration between the networks that work to protect abused mothers and those dedicated to protecting children, the project aims to reduce systemic barriers that may jeopardize the safety of women and children. As a result of this project, mothers will be better informed of the protection options available to them, shelters will have the tools they need to establish contact with their youth protection counterparts, and the latter will have a better understanding of the reality of women and children in situations of spousal violence.
