Purpose: This 17-month project will address barriers to leadership opportunities for Anglophone girls, aged 13 to 17, from five communities in the Gaspé region of Québec. Working with a steering committee composed of school, institutional and community-based partners, girls will participate in the identification of key issues, services and gaps in the area of leadership development. Various activities, including a series of workshops will be carried out with girls in participating schools to enhance their leadership skills. With the support of the steering committee, girls will lead and implement community-based activities to respond to identified barriers to their community participation.
