Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards
|Recipient Name:||PACT Ottawa Persons against the Crime of Trafficking in Humans|
|Purpose:||This 24-month project will address barriers that limit community efforts to deal with the issue of trafficking of women and girls for the purpose of sexual exploitation in the city of Ottawa. The project will focus on the vulnerability of girls and young women from disadvantaged backgrounds and high-risk neighbourhoods identified as street gang territories. Consultations will be held within the community to identify gaps in services, policies, strategies and programs for women at risk of, or who have been trafficked. The project represents a strategic partnership between girls, women, and key community partners such as Ottawa Police Services, Crime Prevention Ottawa, and Childrens Aid Society in the development of a collaborative action plan focused specifically on trafficking of for the purpose of sexual exploitation.|
