Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre
Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Date: 2013-03-28
Value: $74,259.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 18-month project will engage young women, girls, community members, ethno-cultural agencies and service providers in identifying and developing strategies to address violence committed in the name of so-called “honour” in Ottawa, ON. In collaboration with partners, girls and young women aged 14 to 20 from various ethno-cultural and faith communities who are at-risk, or are victims, of violence in the name of honour, will assist in determining strengths and gaps in existing policies and services. They will then identify priorities to develop a coordinated community response to address this form of violence.
