Purpose: This 16-month project will increase the knowledge and skills of women who are considering becoming involved in democratic life by running for political office at all levels, but particularly in municipal councils and legislative assemblies. Participants will take part in municipal council simulations in the communities of Drummondville and Magog. Aspiring candidates will be paired with elected or formerly elected candidates in order to support them in their activities. Through training and participation in simulation activities, participants will develop a better understanding of the processes and procedures of municipal council, and have a better understanding of their future role.
