Purpose: This 24 month project will address women’s under-representation in community leadership and political roles in Moncton, New Brunswick. In collaboration with stakeholders, girls aged 14 to 18 and young women aged 19 to 25 will help identify the issues affecting their participation and expand their understanding of these issues. Participants will develop leadership skills and help deliver innovative girl-led strategies to overcome these barriers and positively impact their communities. Photovoice will be used throughout the project – this process allows participants to capture images of their surroundings to help them identify the existing gaps and obstacles to actively participate in leadership roles in their communities, as well as the opportunities and resources which can help them become more involved.
