Purpose: This 18 month project will enable young women aged 17 to 24 in Saint John, New Brunswick to identify barriers to their participation in leadership positions within boards of directors of community organizations. Young women will be provided with opportunities such as: leadership training, training on governance and committee procedures, mentoring, and an internship on the board of a community organization. The participants will then use this experience to address specific barriers in their community.
