Purpose: This 24 month project will address the specific barriers that girls aged 14 to 18 in Spryfield, Dartmouth and Halifax North face in participating in civic, political and community life. In collaboration with stakeholders, participants will help identify the issues affecting their involvement in leadership roles and expand their understanding of these issues. Community asset mapping and girl-led community initiatives will take place to offer opportunities for learning and exchange between the participants in order to address the identified barriers.
