Purpose: This 24 month project will build partnerships and collaboration between Aboriginal girls and young women aged 15 to 25 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and communities and stakeholders to identify and respond to the specific barriers that Aboriginal girls and women face in participating in civic, political and community life. Girls and young women will discuss barriers, priorities and potential strategies for increasing leadership prospects. Partnerships with key stakeholders will be developed to support the girls and young women through leadership training that will enable them to deliver girl-led projects that will address the barriers identified in the project.
