Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Comité condition féminine Baie-James
Location: Chibougamau, Quebec
Date: 2012-02-16
Value: $300,000.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 36-month project aims to help women in precarious economic circumstances in the James Bay area in northern Quebec. More specifically, in the communities of Matagami, Villebois, Valcanton, Chapais, Chibougamau and Lebel-sur-Quévillon. With the help of partners from the communities, the organization intends to form local consultation committees that will help identify the economic issues affecting these women. A gender-based analysis will produce a general profile of the situation and clearly identify local issues. In each community, targeted partners will work with the organization to prepare a collective community plan describing the economic situation of James Bay women, tools and resources, and options for action.
