Purpose: This 36 month project will engage women and girls, men and boys, community organizations and other key stakeholders in developing and implementing a community plan to address the high incidences of violence against women in Fort St. John and the surrounding region of North Peace, British Columbia. A gender-based analysis, with a particular emphasis on the impact of the oil and gas industry on violence against women in the community, will be conducted. The project also plans to engage local employers, including oil and gas companies, in the implementation of the community plan.
