Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards
|Recipient Name:||AnânauKatiget Tumingit Regional Inuit Women's Association Inc.|
|Location:||St. John's, Newfoundland|
|Purpose:||This 36-month project will work with Inuit women and girls in Labrador in the two most northern communities of Nain and Hopedale in the remote geographical region of Nunatsiavut. Two community plans will be developed to address the needs of women in these communities such as affordable and adequate childcare and accessibility to employment programs and services, with the ultimate aim to increase their overall economic security. Inuit women will be involved in the needs assessment stage of the project as well as the development and implementation of the community plans, enhancing their leadership and network-building skills. The Association plans to use this project as a model for economic development plans for other Inuit communities.|
