Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Centre d'encadrement pour jeunes femmes immigrantes
Location: Saint Laurent, Québec
Date: 2011-03-22
Value: $98,423.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 24-month project will develop innovative mentorship models and supports to increase women's involvement as leaders and decision-makers in community-based organizations. A key component will be to prepare women already in leadership positions in community-based organizations to serve as mentors to those with little or no experience of civic engagement, and wherever possible, to involve them as leaders in their own community-based organizations. Results will be shared with other organizations and target populations across Canada. This project will pair immigrant women who are leaders in community organizations, or who work with immigrant services organizations, with young immigrant women, so that they may act as their mentors and teach them how to lead. The project will focus on immigrant women between the ages of 18 and 35 in the Montréal region.
Comments: Multi-year project of 24 months
