Purpose: The goal of this 24-month project is to increase and sustain the participation of diverse women as leaders and decision-makers in science, engineering, trades and technology (SETT) occupations across Canada. The major activities of the project include: 1) the development of a modularized leadership training program for women already employed in the science, engineering, technology and trades fields; 2) the development of a SETT Career Awareness program for Aboriginal and immigrant girls and women; and 3) development and delivery of resources and supports for employers to promote diversity within their workplaces. The project will support the development of greater decision-making and leadership roles for women employed in (SETT) by working to develop and strengthen the knowledge, skills and roles of 570 women in SETT and creating work environments that are respectful and inclusive of women in SETT.
