Purpose: This project will pilot a model of continuous support for women and girls who use women’s shelters and services in Saskatchewan. The project will focus on three specific activities. First, the organization will work with shelter staff to enhance their skills and abilities to form more effective relationships with shelter clients. Second, women leaving the shelters will have the opportunity to participate in a mentorship program, with former shelter residents acting as mentors. A third component of the project will address the needs of girls who have witnessed violence. The project will support all women but will focus on Aboriginal women.
