Purpose: This 36 month project will provide life skills training to women who are incarcerated, in conflict with or at risk of being in conflict with the law. Women will gain access to community support services, thus reducing the likelihood that they will reoffend. 30 women who are past offenders, or currently incarcerated, will receive leadership training to act as advisors to the project. They will assist with the planning and content development of life skills workshops for criminalized women. 250 women will have access to training which will allow them to increase their assertiveness, awareness of healthy relationships, improve their financial literacy and enhance their decision-making skills.
