Purpose: This project will develop a more coordinated approach to accessing services in transition houses for women with histories of substance abuse and/or mental health issues living in BC and the Yukon. Best practices will be guided by numerous consultations with service providers from across the anti-violence, mental health and substance use sectors, as well as extensive consultations with women from the target population throughout the life cycle of the project. Key activities will include the selection of five pilot sites and the implementation of training at these pilot sites; a research partnership with BC Women's Hospital; the development, publication and implementation of a best practices tool kit for service providers; and a professional, external evaluation of the project.
Comments: Multi-year project of 30 months.
