Purpose: The project will increase the safety of 120 women from the West Shore of Vancouver Island by providing accessible and responsive group services for abused women. Adding to existing services, the West Shore Family Violence Collaborative will develop new, post-abuse group services for women who have come through the immediate crisis of being in or leaving an abusive relationship. Activities will include individual group readiness counselling and weekly support groups. The organization will assess and report on the effectiveness of the delivery model tested.
Comments: Multi-year project of 36 months.
