Purpose: Working in collaboration with Family Service Regina’s Domestic Violence Program, the project will pilot specialized early identification and intervention services for women who are being stalked by their former intimate partners. Direct services provided to victims will include risk assessment and management, provision of useful information and resources, emotional support and encouragement, appropriate referrals and advocacy. Utilization of the criminal justice system will be encouraged to improve the protection available to victims and their children as well as to increase offenders’ controls and accountability. A component of the project will focus on community education and enhanced awareness through the distribution of written information, web information and enhanced web linkages, presentations and training sessions.
Comments: Multi-year project of 36 months.
