The three-year project will design, test and implement an innovative intervention program to meet the specific needs of women perpetrators of violence. This intervention program is part of an effort to bring about social change. It targets women who use violence with their spouse, their family or in the community. More specifically, women who use violence will take part in various committees, as well as in the development and testing of tools, the promotion of activities, the assessment of the process and the results. Women who use violence will be enabled to empower themselves and improve their quality of life. The needs of Aboriginal, immigrant and lesbian women will be addressed in the project adapted to their specific circumstances. The program will reflect the findings of an extensive preliminary analysis, which will be widely disseminated among stakeholders. Knowledge transfer strategies will be used to ensure the successful continuation of this project.
