Purpose: This three-year project aims to promote equality and violence-free behaviour in girls’ romantic relationships. It is part of a process that began throughout the Lower St. Lawrence region and that addresses hypersexualization and its often detrimental impact on dating relationships. Teenage girls will be involved in all aspects of the project, in partnership with school and community workers. In total, 15 girls will be trained to become agents of change among their peers. They will develop and disseminate tools to raise awareness and enhance skills among their peers to combat dating violence. 1,023 girls and boys in the regional county municipality of Matane will be impacted by this project.
