Purpose: The project will consist of workshops for 50 older immigrant women between 50 and 70 years of age designed to end their isolation and teach them about their rights, in order to combat the abuse to which they are subjected. Tools will be developed to help these women find out more about the resources available in their communities. The participants will learn about other kinds of work outside the home. Quebec women will act as mentors to help them through their journey. (Note: French classes given during the project will be funded by the Government of Quebec).
Comments: Multi-year project of 24 months.
