Purpose: The project aims to make Témiscamingue’s women, girls and key players aware and prepared to deal with the issue of sexual assaults that occur at public events. It addresses a need that has been forcefully stated by women and girls who have disclosed having been victims of sexual assault during local recreational-tourism events, and which have made them feel that it is not safe to attend such events. Together with the organizers of these events, the group wants to introduce concrete measures to reduce the risk of sexual assault and combat this form of violence against girls and women. The project will directly reach 380 women and girls, with an additional impact on over 3,000 people in Témiscamingue.
