Purpose: This 13 month project aims to develop a leadership training program, provide opportunities for interaction and provide learning opportunities from female mentors who are already regarded as leaders in their communities. Eight workshops/ training sessions will help participants identify their existing strengths while enhancing their decision making and community leadership skills. Workshop topics will include effective communication, creative problem solving and teamwork. Participants will be linked with female mentors to help them outline their individual goals, create successful individual action plans using their new leadership skills, and improve their overall social conditions within western region of Newfoundland.
