Purpose: The pilot project intends to reach at least 58 marginalized women in the Greater Vancouver area, and aims to develop a new peer mentorship and leadership model that will help improve women’s socio-economic situation. Activities will include the provision of support and counseling, peer mentorship and role-modeling, leadership and life skills training, opportunities to learn about community resources available to them and many hands-on opportunities to practice the newly learned skills. This pilot project model will likely be shared with agencies wishing to assist women with leadership and life skills.
