Purpose: Through education, development and leadership activities, this 18 month project will provide direct support, information and training to 90 rural and northern women in Parkland, Burntwood and the South Eastman regions of Manitoba. The goal of the project is to increase the knowledge and skills to achieve economic security and work-family balance, through identifying and responding to changing economic opportunities, and by developing mechanisms to effectively reduce work-family stress within their families, communities and workplaces. Participants will: attend training workshops; participate in mentoring activities; and, attend a conference to meet and share information with women in other communities. The Coalition has developed an evaluation plan for the project.
