Purpose: The purpose of the project is to reduce systemic barriers to the integration and full participation of Anglophone and Francophone women living with disabilities in Eastern Ontario. Le Phénix will provide a series of 15 information sessions to 60 women living with visible or invisible disabilities. The topics addressed will be identification of areas of interest, career options, employability, interview preparation, workplace accommodation, and budget planning. Le Phénix will also offer information sessions and workshops for employers and other economic development leaders to raise awareness of the specific challenges and needs of these women in order to encourage their hiring. Le Phénix has already signed "employability project" agreements with some 20 economic development leaders.
