Purpose: This three-year project by Regroupement provincial des maisons d’hébergement et de transition pour femmes victimes de violence conjugale aims to prevent violence in romantic relationships. A prevention program will be developed and tested in three Quebec high schools. A series of workshops for students and stakeholders in schools will build capacity to recognize abusive relationships and report them, and improve the ability to react appropriately. This project will directly reach 900 girls and the same number of boys. Moreover, setting up a committee on violence will ensure that the initiative will continue in the schools.
Comments: Multi-year project of 3 years (2008-2010).
