Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Pink Dog Productions
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Date: 2008-03-03
Value: $58,625.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: Pink Dog Productions will partner with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Nova Scotia for a 6 month project in the Halifax area that aims to reduce societal oversight and to break down barriers faced by at-risk, criminalized and incarcerated women. They will do so by producing an 8-10 minute documentary video and three 30-second public service announcements that contributes to the prosperity of these women by stamping out societal stigma. At risk, criminalized and incarcerated women will participate in a mentorship process to develop skills in video production, as well as impart interpersonal, communication, leadership and presentation skills. The women involved in the project will participate in creative writing workshops and in the conceptual script for each video. Additional workshops will be created for the women sharing their stories on screen.
