Purpose: Through mentoring, 120 British Columbia women (particularly Aboriginal and immigrant women) will increase their leadership skills. Through two year-long cycles of the Women’s Leadership Program, both the mentors and mentees will build the leadership skills that women need to affect their community. Activities include one-on-one mentorship, roundtable sessions with mentors and mentees, four skill-building workshops per year for mentees, leadership skill enhancement workshops for mentors, group mentorship, an Aboriginal forum, and a group mentorship speakers series. The women will invest their new skills in their communities, families and local businesses to secure personal and regional economic security for women.
