Purpose: The Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte and District will address the needs of three populations of female survivors of rape and sexual abuse: 10 senior women (aged 55 plus), 10 teen/young adult women (aged 16 to 21), and 10 women from the general population. This 11-month pilot project will test appropriate experiential and psycho-educational therapy in a safe environment outside of regular counselling. Tools and support will help the women to continue their healing journey and fully participate in their community. The centre will share the best practices and lessons learned with its network, which includes all Ontario sexual assault and rape crisis centres.
