Purpose: Women in disadvantaged communities will end their long-term dependency on others or on the system by preparing for entrepreneurship or another independent living option. In three-hour workshops held once a week for 10 weeks, 144 women will identify their values, become aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and focus on living independently. Topics include sustainable livelihoods, communication, entrepreneurial culture, and maximization of chances of success. The women will then have the opportunity to launch a business with the help of the Loan Fund’s services.
Comments: Multi-year project of 3 years (2007-2009).
