Purpose: Fifty African-origin, Aboriginal, visible minority and immigrant women in two regions and three counties of Nova Scotia will participate in a women-centred community-based economic development (CED) initiative. This pilot project will improve the economic situation of diverse women in Nova Scotia by increasing the number participating in women-centred CED ventures. The mentorship aspect of this project and the training guide will provide a model that could be adapted to help women connect into the workforce in other rural Canadian communities.
