Purpose: The purpose of this group's project is to promote access by women to traditionally male-dominated occupations. Its objectives are: to encourage stakeholders in labour and employment, including employers, to share a common vision of the situation; to introduce procedures that will facilitate women's entry into traditionally male-dominated occupations; and to involve stakeholders in a regional grouping aimed at developing strategies adapted to the region's needs. Upon completion of the project, the region will have an action plan aimed at facilitating women's entry into traditionally male-dominated occupations and a regional grouping to follow up on the action plan. As well, a realistic approach to promoting recruitment and retention of women employees in traditionally male-dominated occupations will have been drawn up.
