Purpose: The Riverdale Immigrant Women's Centre (RIWC) will undertake an initiative to promote participation of internationally-trained teachers (ITTs) in the education sector so that they could attain better economic security. RIWC will use an asset-based “Sustainable Livelihood” model to work with ITTs. Through a participatory research, further documentation and reduction of identified barriers, work with selected institutions, development of ITT’s leadership in setting up a professional group, and enhanced information sharing for potential ITT immigrants via technology, ITTs would be more equipped to re-integrate into their profession.
