Purpose: Sexual Assault Centre of Hamilton and Area (SACHA) is seeking financial and technical support to promote programs and services within their organizations that take account of the cultural diversity of women in the community and enable women to take part in decision-making processes. In particular, SACHA will work with women from five cultural diverse communities to design and develop programs to meet the needs of survivors of violence and abuse. By designing the proposed “Peer Group Facilitation and Women Helping Women Cluster Groups” women from diverse cultures will become more knowledgeable concerning the various manifestations of violence and the various strategies and/or programs available at the community level. The women will be trained to help other women from their cultural communities better understand and connect to appropriate services and programs addressing violence.
