Purpose: This 30 month project will address institutional barriers that limit the economic prosperity of women in British Columbia. Specifically, the project will engage entrepreneurial and business women, women as leaders, and stakeholders to tap into existing and emerging economic opportunities in four key regions of urban, rural and remote BC. The project will build strategic partnerships and implement innovative approaches to increase access to economic opportunities for women, particularly in entrepreneurship and professional occupations including non-traditional occupations and energy sector where women are under-represented. Through aligning the efforts with the Provincial framework through BC Premier's Women's Economic Council, WEC BC will partner with the WEB Alliance of women's businesses networks and local Chambers of Commerce to collaboratively enhance and grow economic opportunities for women in the regions of Southern Interior, Northern BC, Vancouver Island and Lower Mainland.
