Purpose: This 24-month project will identify best practices to prevent and respond to sexual violence against First Nation women and girls living on and off reserve in Northern British Columbia. It will build collaboration with community organizations, band council leaders, elders, teachers, women and girls, creating a coalition of partners to identify needs, gaps in programs/services and promising practices to address identified barriers. The project will develop and pilot culturally appropriate approaches in First Nation communities to address sexual violence toward women and girls and increase the ability of community service providers to work collaboratively.
