Purpose: This 24 month project will build partnerships and collaboration between individuals, communities and stakeholders to identify and respond to the specific barriers that young Aboriginal women under 24 years of age living in Iqaluit, Nunavut face in participating in civic, political and community life. In collaboration with stakeholders and community members, participants will gather information on current barriers and issues that have been identified as priorities. Leadership training and support will allow young women to present this information to community members; and engage partners, mentors and community members in the development and implementation of girl-led projects.
