Lorraine Mitchelmore: Canadian Pioneer

When I got offered this job as Country Chair for Shell Canada,
I took it...
at first I thought, no, I don't want to do that because
it's too much of a sacrifice because I have small kids.
But I actually thought about it again and I took it
as a privilege to do it.
Because I wanted to do it differently to show other women
that you actually could have this job and raise children
and be a role model for others.
There's all these same challenges that any minority
would face but you overcome them by keeping your feet on the
ground and knowing who you truly are and being true
to your principles and you overcome these challenges.
So I'm most proud of being able to do this job,
two jobs mind you, and have two great young daughters.
And I think what I am as a role model for them
and they tell me that and that makes me pretty proud.
