Angela Santiago: Canadian Pioneer

Find out more about Women's History Month.

Angela Santiago: Canadian Pioneer

I started the Little Potato Company with my father
about 16 years ago.
So after about 2 years of hands on doing everything I kind of
fell in love and learned a lot about food and agriculture and,
yeah (laugh) I stayed.
There aren't very many women in the produce food industry that
are at the senior level so when we do meet each other
there is this sort of underlying camaraderie
and connection right away.
I have often been told I lead with my heart.
And, um, and I think that might be also because of me
but also I think because of me being a woman,
and I think the business community needs more of that.
We need more of a focus on the people that work in the business
and, in turn, you'll make profit because of that.
